How the APS works
Your Admission Point Score (APS) is calculated from your best NSC subjects — usually six, excluding Life Orientation. Each subject earns points based on your percentage. Universities set a minimum APS for each programme; meeting it is necessary but not always sufficient, since competitive courses also weigh specific subjects.
